F1 in Schools Regionals 2024

Our regional finals at RAF Benson began with setting up our pit display and attending a welcome presentation. Afterwards, we were judged on our brand identity and had a break before practising on the reaction time machine to decide who would start the race. We then gave a verbal presentation to the judges and participated in the race, where the fastest time out of four attempts counted. Following lunch, we were judged on our enterprise efforts and portfolio, then waited for the awards announcement. F1 in Schools offers many benefits, such as learning CAD, aerodynamics, and manufacturing, which are valuable for DT and Physics GCSEs. We won the ‘Judges Choice’ award out of 42 teams and aim to reach the national finals next year.
